Fusion - Ultra Guard

Fusion Ultra Guard Poly Top Coat is a professional-grade, water-based polyurethane top coat from Fusion Mineral Paint — a durable, crystal-clear finish that protects furniture, cabinetry, and décor with long-lasting resilience. Non-yellowing and reinforced with silica for increased abrasion resistance, it's suitable for both light and dark surfaces.

Features

• Do not freeze — store appropriately in colder months

Surface Prep

• Painted surfaces: Clean and degrease with TSP Alternative. Wait 24–48 hours after painting before applying.
• Bare wood: Sand smooth with 120-grit sandpaper, free from wax and contaminants. Remove dust before application.

Application

• Mix thoroughly with a stick and wait 20 minutes before applying.
• Apply with a synthetic bristle brush or microfibre roller.
• Sand lightly with 220-grit sandpaper between coats.
• Painted surfaces: 2 coats recommended.
• Bare wood / non-sealing stains: 3 coats for optimal protection.
• Coverage: approx. 65 sq ft per can.

Drying & Cure Time

• Re-coat: 3–48 hours (after 48 hours, lightly sand before next coat).
• Sand between coats: wait 6–8 hours first.
• Full cure: 7–10 days.
• Can be painted over after 10 days with a clean scuff sand — test adhesion first.

Care & Clean-Up

• Clean tools with odourless solvent (can also be used to thin coats for faster drying).
• Clean cured surfaces with mild soap and warm water.
